To draw this Minecraft Zombie step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to go at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below. The new lines in each step are shown in red, and each step is explained in the text below the photo, so you'll know exactly what to draw in each step. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods! Take your time and draw at your own pace.

The written step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Draw a small square near the top of the paper as a guide for the Minecraft zombie's head. First make four small marks to determine the square's height and width. Keep the distances equal. Make the marks longer so that they form a square. The bigger the square, the bigger the head will be. Minecraft uses geometric shapes, so you can use a ruler if you want a perfect square.

Step 2: Inside the head, draw two intersecting lines as guides to help you place the Minecraft zombie's facial features later. Draw these construction lines across the center to divide the square into four equal parts.

Step 3: Under the head, draw two long lines for the first part of the guide for the body. These vertical lines should be about one and a half times the length of the zombie's head. Close to the right side, draw a slightly longer third line to give the shape some thickness. Draw a couple of lines at the bottom to close off the rectangular shape of the body.

Step 4: Inside the body, near the top, draw a small square for the Minecraft zombie's first hand. The sides of the square should be tilting to the left a bit. The top and bottom should be horizontal.

Step 5: Draw a line from the top, left corner of the small square to the body for the first part of the arm. Draw two more lines from the corners of the small square to the right of the Minecraft zombie's body for the sides of the arm. Close off the shape on the right side. The shape of the arm should be thinner farther back.

Step 6: Add a small square to the left of the body for the other hand by first drawing two tilted vertical lines. Draw two sloping horizontal lines at the top and bottom to complete the square for the zombie's hand.

Step 7: Draw a line from the top, left corner of the small square to the body for the first part of the Minecraft zombie's arm. Draw two more lines from the right corners to the body to complete the shape of the arm.

Step 8: From the bottom, right corner of the Minecraft zombie's body, draw a long line that slopes to the left for the leg. On the left, draw a parallel sloping line for the other edge of the leg. Close off the shape at the bottom. To the right, draw yet another parallel sloping line for the other edge of the leg stepping forward. Close off the shape at the top and bottom using a few short, angled lines.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing.

Step 9: Darken the shape of the Minecraft zombie's head. You can add a line on the right if you'd like to make the shape thicker. If you omit the line on the right, the head will appear to look forward instead off to the left.

Step 10: Directly under the horizontal guide line inside the head, draw two small rectangles for the zombie's eyes. Pay attention to the spacing between the eyes. Use the vertical line as a guide.

Step 11: Below the eyes, in the middle, draw a rectangle that's the same size as the eyes for the nose. On the top part of the Minecraft zombie's head, draw a series of angled lines for the hairline. The hairline should be similar to steps that are going up from the sides and then meet in the middle.

Step 12: Darken the block on the top, right side of the body for the Minecraft zombie's first arm. Remember to use a ruler or any object with a straight edge if you're having trouble drawing straight lines. On the right side of the arm, draw a couple of short lines for the shirt's sleeve.

Step 13: Darken the block on the left side of the body for the zombie's other arm. Draw a short line on the top side of the arm for the shirt's sleeve.

Step 14: Darken the big block under the head for the body. Don't overlap the arm on the right as you darken the shape of the Minecraft zombie's body. At the top of the body, between the head and the arm, draw a couple of short, angled lines for the shirt's collar. At the bottom of the body, draw a horizontal line with some angled lines on the left for the bottom of the shirt and top of the pants.

Step 15: Darken the block under the Minecraft zombie's body to create the leg stepping forward. The top of the leg should be kind of detached from the body as it steps forward.

Step 16: Draw a couple of lines on the bottom of the leg for the shoe. The line on the right should be angled. Draw a line that slopes from the bottom, left corner of the body to the leg stepping forward for the zombie's other leg.

Step 17: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner drawing.

Final Step: Color your Minecraft zombie drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use dark green for the hair, nose and sides of the arms. Color lightly at first and slowly build up to the level of darkness that you like. Use light green for the rest of the skin. For a simpler drawing, use regular green on all the skin. Color the Minecraft zombie's eyes black and the shirt light blue. The pants are a purplish blue color, but you can use regular blue. Use gray for the shoes. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.
