The written step-by-step video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start with a guide for Bart Simpson's head. First draw a long diagonal line. Now draw a shorter diagonal line to the right. Pay close attention to the distance between the lines. Draw a curved line above that connects the two first lines to close off the top. Now add a curved line to close off the bottom and finish the guide for Bart's head.
Step 2: Draw two intersecting lines inside the head to help you place Bart's facial features later. The vertical line should be close to the left side. The horizontal line should be near the middle.
Step 3: Draw a short line on the lower, right corner of the head for the first part of the guide for Bart Simpson's neck. Now add another short line on the left for the other side of the neck, and draw a curved line at the bottom.
Step 4: Draw an oval below the head by first making four small marks to indicate its height and width. Connect the small marks using curved lines to finish the shape of the oval. This will be a guide for Bart Simpson's body. Pay attention to the size and position of the oval relative to the head.
Step 5: Connect the neck to the oval using two curved lines to complete the guide for Bart Simpson's body.
