To draw this cartoon Vampire Puppy step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below the video. The new lines in each step are shown in red, so you'll know exactly what to draw next. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods. Take your time and draw at your own pace.

Written step-by-step video tutorial:

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Draw two small circles for the vampire puppy's eyes. Inside each eye, draw two tiny circles to represent glare. Shade the eyes but don't overlap the tiny glare circles. The head is going to be tilted, so place the eye on the right higher than the eye on the left. Sketch lightly at first and only darken the eyes when you get the shapes right.

Step 2: Between the eyes, at the bottom, draw a small oval for the nose. Shade the puppy's nose except for a small section at the top that represents shine.

Step 3: Under the nose, draw a curved line for the muzzle/mouth. The left side of the line should curve up higher to create the shape of the vampire puppy's muzzle.

Step 4: Below the muzzle, draw two tiny V-shaped lines for the fangs. You can skip this step for a regular dog.

Step 5: On either side of the face, draw a curved line for the Dracula puppy's cheeks. Place the line on the right higher to emphasize the tilt of the head.

Step 6: On the left side, draw a line similar to a curved letter V for the puppy's first ear. At the top, draw a couple of overlapping curved lines for the folded part of the ear.

Step 7: Draw a similar shape on the right side for the vampire puppy's other ear but place it higher. Draw a line similar to a curved letter V for the bottom and a couple of overlapping lines at the top.

Step 8: Draw a curved line at the top that connects the two ears and create the top of the vampire puppy's head. Add a couple of short spikes in the middle of the line for a bit of fur.

Step 9: Below the dog's muzzle, draw a circle for the vampire medallion.

Step 10: Draw some sloping lines that connect the circle to the head to form the medallion's straps.

Step 11: Below the medallion, on the left side, draw a curved line similar to the letter U for the vampire puppy's first leg. At the bottom, draw a couple of short lines to separate the toes.

Step 12: On the right, draw a similar shape for the other front foot. Make the shapes as similar as you can. Don't forget the puppy's toes at the bottom!

Step 13: Draw two long, curved lines that connect the head to the feet to create the Dracula puppy's body. The line on the right should be longer. Both of the lines should be a bit flat at the bottom.

Step 14: Under the body, on either side, draw a short, curved line for the vampire puppy's hind paws. Inside each paw, at the bottom, draw a couple of short lines to separate the toes.

Step 15: On the right side, draw a thin shape that ends in a pointy tip at the top for the vampire puppy's tail.

Step 16: Starting at the neck, on the left side, draw the vampire puppy's collar using a couple of curved lines. This shape should be similar to a thin, curved triangle. Add another triangle-like shape on the right for the other side of the cape's collar. Place this side of the collar higher up to conform to the tilt of the head.

Step 17: On either side of the body, draw a shape similar to the collar (only upside- down) for the Dracula puppy's cape. These shapes should be similar to triangles, only longer, thinner and curved. The shape on the right should be longer because of the tilt of the head. Don't overlap the lines for the dog's tail as you draw the shape on the right. At the bottom, draw a series of short arcs for the cape's pointy lower edge.

Step 18: Using a pen or marker, carefully go over the lines to make your vampire puppy drawing permanent. After inking, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.

Final Step: Color your vampire puppy drawing using color pencils, markers or crayons! Use red for the outside of the collar and cape and for the medallion's straps. Color the inside of the collar and cape black and the medallion yellow. Color the puppy any way you like. Or leave him blank for a white puppy. For this look, use light brown for the ears and to add a few big spots on the body, including one over the eye.
