The written step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

How to Draw Count Dracula Hotel Transylvania 1

Step 1: Draw a small circle at the top of the page as a guide for Dracula's head. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid. Under the circle, draw a small, U-shaped line as a guide for the vampire's jaw and chin.

Step 2: Inside the head, draw two intersecting lines as a guide to help you place Dracula's facial features later. Pay attention to the placement of the lines. On the left side of the head, draw a small, C-shaped line for this Hotel Transylvania character's ear.

Step 3: Below the head, draw a big triangle as a guide for Drac's torso. Start with a long, horizontal line at the top. Add a big, V-shaped line at the bottom. The left side of the "V" should slope more than the right side. Sketch lightly at first to get the shape right. Add two short lines at the top as guides for the vampire's neck.

Step 4: Under the torso, draw two very long vertical lines for the first part of the guide for Dracula's legs. Pay attention to how long these lines are in relation to the torso. The lines should slope to the left slightly. Don't draw the lines too far apart; keep the shape skinny. Close off the shape at the bottom.

Step 5: Draw a long, vertical line across the bottom shape to separate the legs. At the bottom, draw two small, triangular shapes pointing outward for Dracula's feet.

Step 6: On the left side of the torso, draw a big, angled line as a guide for Dracula's first arm. On the bottom end, draw a small circle as a guide for the fist. The circle should overlap the body a bit. Draw an angled line on the other side of the torso for the vampire's other arm. Add a half-circle at the bottom.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing of Dracula from Hotel Transylvania.

Step 7: Inside the first circle, lightly sketch an angled line similar to a backward letter L for the nose. Use the initial lines and shapes as guides for the size and position of Drac's nose. When you get the shape right, darken the line. Curve the lower, left side up for the outer nostril.

Step 8: At the top of the nose, on either side, draw a small, curved shape for Dracula's eyes. The shapes should be similar to the letter D on its side. The eye on the right will be partly blocked by the nose. Make the eye on the left a little bit bigger because of the way the vampire's head is turned.

Step 9: Inside each eye, on the lower, left side, draw a small circle for the irises. Inside each iris, draw a dot for the pupils. Above the eyes, draw a thick, long shape for Dracula's eyebrows. Don't place the eyebrows too high inside the circle. Shade the inside of the eyebrows.

Step 10: Under the nose, draw a big, curved shape for this Hotel Transylvania character's open mouth. The tip of the nose will partly overlap the mouth. Dracula's mouth should be similar to the letter D on its side. Sketch lightly at first and only darken the lines when you get the shape right.

Step 11: Inside the mouth, at the top, draw a line with tiny spikes on the sides for the row of teeth and vampire fangs. Below Dracula's teeth, draw a curved line for the tongue. Add some smile lines on the outer corners of the mouth.

Step 12: Darken the curved line on the left but make it pointier for the ear. Add a line inside for structure. Draw a line that starts at the ear and then curves up and to the right over the eyebrows for the hairline. Use a similar curved line above that for the top part of Drac's hair. Use the first circle as a guide.

Step 13: Darken the sides of the initial guides to create the rest of Dracula's head. Curve the line near the eye inward for the brow and cheek. Darken the bottom line for the chin and jaw. Darken the lines under the head for the neck.

Step 14: On the left side of the vampire's neck, draw a line that curves upward for the first part of the cape's collar. Draw another curved line at the bottom to create a pointy, triangular shape for the left side of the collar. On the right side, draw a similar pointy, triangular shape for the other side of the collar. Draw a couple of curved lines at the bottom to show where Dracula's collar comes together.

Step 15: Use the angled line on the left side of the torso as a guide to draw Dracula's first arm. Follow the path of the guide and lightly sketch the shape of the arm around it. Make the top part wide and the bottom narrow. When you get the shape right, darken the lines. The forearm should be wide and the wrist thin. Use the small circle as a guide to draw the fist. The fist should fit in the circle. The sides should be flat. Add a couple of curved lines at the bottom for the fingers of this Hotel Transylvania character.

Step 16: Use the shapes on the right of the torso as guide to draw Dracula's other arm the same way. Draw the shape of the thick arm around the guide. At the bottom, draw the visible portion of the vampire's fist.

Step 17: Draw a couple of curved lines over the shoulders for the top part of Dracula's cape that drapes over them. The line on the right should be shorter. Under the cape, draw a small, V-shaped line for the top of the vest. Below that, draw a vertical line and an angled line at the bottom for the rest of Dracula's vest.

Step 18: Draw a couple of curved lines at the top for Dracs's bow tie. Draw the vest's lapels at the top too. Add a few small circles in the vest for buttons. At the bottom of the vest, draw a series of short, horizontal lines for the cummerbund.

Step 19: Darken the left side of the shape at the bottom for Dracula's first pant leg. Darken the small, triangular shape for the first shoe. Draw a small, angled line at the bottom for the heel.

How to Draw Count Dracula Hotel Transylvania 20

Step 20: Darken the shapes on the right to create Dracula's other leg and shoe. Add the shoe's heel at the bottom.

How to Draw Count Dracula Hotel Transylvania 21

Step 21: Below the arm on the left, draw a long, vertical line for the first part of the vampire's cape. Draw a second vertical line on the right for the inner edge of the cape that curves forward. Draw the other side of the cape to the right of the body using another long, vertical line. Draw the bottom edge of the cape as a curved line but don't overlap Dracula's legs.

Step 22: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink your drawing to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner drawing of Dracula from the animated movie Hotel Transylvania.

Final Step: Color your Dracula drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use light brown to create shadows on the vampire's skin and then color the rest of the skin peach. Use blue for the eyes, dark brown for the inside of the mouth and red for the tongue. Use black for everything else except for the inside of Dracula's cape. Color lightly at first and then slowly build up the level of darkness. Press lightly on your pencil to get a lighter black on the sides of the body to make them rounder. Lightly add black stripes to the inside of the cape for folds. Color the rest of the cape purple. Add a bit more black to Dracula's body if it's too light. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.
