How to Draw Max Dog Grinch Stole Christmas 10

Step 10: Starting between the eyes, at the bottom, draw a series of curved lines toward the left for the muzzle of this character from Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. These short, curved lines should overlap each other, and they should extend outside of the original head circle. Pay attention to how far left the top of the muzzle extends. At the end, draw a small, oval-like shape for Max's nose.

Step 11: Below the previous lines, draw a curved line for the bottom edge of the top jaw. Follow the edge of the initial circle and then curve the line up toward the eye to create a smile. At the top, draw a curved, horizontal line for a smile line. On the left, draw a couple more short, curved lines for the other side of Max's smile.

Step 12: Under the smile line, draw a sloping line for the first side of the open mouth. At the bottom, add the tongue by drawing a small, U-shaped line with a couple of curved lines above it. To the left of the tongue, draw another sloping line for the other side of the open mouth. Darken the initial guide that was under the circle to create the rest of Max's lower jaw.

Step 13: Darken the angled line on the left side of the head for the first part of the ear. Add a curved line above and a shorter curved line below to make the shape of the ear thicker. Darken the angled line on the right side of the head for the first part of Max's other ear. Draw an angled line below to make the shape of the ear thicker. To the right, draw a small, square-like shape for rest of the folded ear.

Step 14: On the right side of the face, draw a curved line that wraps around the smile line for Max's cheek. The line should stick out of the circle. Draw a similar but smaller line on the left side for the other cheek. Use the top half of the initial circle as a guide to draw the rest of the head. Follow the basic path of the initial circle but make the shape of the head a bit smaller.
