Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake.

Step 1: To draw Lisa Simpson, start with a circle in the middle of the page. This will be the basic shape for Lisa Simpson's head.

Step 2: Next, draw a vertical line that dissects the oval in half and extends to the outside of the circle. Draw a horizontal line that goes straight across it and that also extends to the outside of the circle (but not as much as the vertical one). The end result will look like crosshairs. These will be construction lines that will help you draw in Lisa Simpson's features later on.

Step 3: Now draw a slightly smaller circle smack dab in the middle of the crosshairs. To the left of this circle draw another circle that is slightly smaller. Make this circle graze the main circle's edge. Draw the circles so they overlap a bit like a Venn diagram. These will be Lisa Simpson's eyes.

Step 4: Starting on the bottom side of where the two circles meet, draw a small oval. This will be Lisa Simpson's nose.

Step 5: Now learn how to draw the hair of The Simpsons character Lisa Simpson. Lisa Simpson's spiky hair is basically a set of triangles or V shapes over her head. To draw her hair, draw a V on its side slightly above the horizontal construction line on the left side of the main circle. Draw an upside-down V on the end of the vertical construction line. Draw a smaller V on its side on the right end of the horizontal construction line.

Step 6: Draw the remaining V shapes. Make sure they get smaller as they get closer to the back of Lisa Simpson’s head. She has a total of eight triangles for hair. You have now learned how to draw Lisa Simpson's spiky hair.

Step 7: For Lisa's mouth, draw a curve that starts on the lower left side of the left eye, extends to the left outside of the main circle, and then goes inside the circle again. End the curve after you cross the vertical construction line. Draw her lower lip below this curve. Lisa's lower lip should begin where her upper lip meets the main circle. When drawing this line, curve it slightly to the left, and then make the line should go straight down to create her neck.

Step 8: On the lower right side on the inside of main circle, close to the end of her mouth, draw a curve that looks like a backwards letter C. Using this guide, you will learn how to draw Lisa Simpson's ear later on. Below her ear, draw a line that extends below of the main circle. This will be her neck.

Step 9: Lisa Simpson's necklace is just a series of circles under her neck. Start by drawing two small circles on either side of the vertical line. Draw two smaller circles overlapping each other on the left side. Draw three more circles to the right so the last circle goes just beyond her neck. These three circles should not overlap.

Step 10: That's it for the initial sketch of Lisa Simpson from The Simpsons cartoon! You have learned how to draw the basic shape of this cartoon character from The Simpsons. Now you will go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 11: Darken in Lisa Simpson's nose, making sure you curve the top part of the oval down slightly. Don't darken the right side of the oval.

Step 12: Darken in Lisa's eyes and draw pupils in the center of each circle. For the eye on the right, draw the pupil smack dab in the crosshairs. The pupil in the left eye should also be in the center on the horizontal construction line. Draw four short, slightly curved lines on top of each eye to represent this Simpsons character's eyelashes.

Step 13: Now learn how to draw Lisa Simpson's mouth, ear and neck. Tighten Lisa Simpson's mouth shape and draw a curved line at the end of her smile to indicate her laugh line. Darken in her ear and neck, and draw a slightly tilted and curved letter T inside her ear.

Step 14: When you darken in Lisa's hair, round out the triangle shapes to give her a more organic look. Darken in her necklace, too, but don't fill out the complete left-most circle. This pearl in Lisa's necklace is behind the second one.

Step 15: That's it! You now have now learned how to draw a sketch of The Simpsons character Lisa Simpson. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

Step 16: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. Final Step: For a completely finished Lisa Simpson drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Lisa is a very simple character to color. Just color her face yellow. That's it! You have now learned how to draw Lisa Simpson from The Simpsons.
