Intro: Start drawing Nintendo's Kirby with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Kirby, start with a circle in the middle of the page. This will be the basic shape for Kirby's head and body.

 

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical and one horizontal line. The end result should look like crosshairs. These will be construction lines that will help you place Kirby's features later on.

 

Step 3: Now draw Kirby's arms by sketching out two arcs on either side of his body. He's going to be waving, so draw the curve of the arm on the left should higher than the one for the right arm.

 

Step 4: For Kirby's feet, simply draw large U shapes on the lower half of his body on either side of the vertical construction line. The tips of each U should touch the circle.

Step 8: Draw Kirby's mouth right below the horizontal construction line. His mouth looks like an upside-down triangle with rounded corners. Draw a curve inside to represent his tongue.

Step 10: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.
