Intro: Start drawing Princess Peach with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Princess Peach, start by drawing an oval that comes to a slight point at the bottom in the middle of the page. This is the basic shape for Princess Peach's head. Draw two curved, wavy lines at the bottom of that shape. These will be the basic shapes for Princess Peach's neck and shoulders.

 

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the oval, one vertical and one horizontal. When drawing the lines, bend them slightly so they follow the contour of the shape. Draw two smaller lines in between the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the oval. These are construction lines that will help you place Princess Peach's facial features later on.

 

Step 3: On top of the horizontal construction line on either side of the vertical construction line, draw two circles with flat bottoms for her eyes. Peach has big eyes, so draw big shapes. Draw the circle on the right a bit smaller because of perspective.

 

Step 4: Now draw a guide for Princess Peach's hair. It is basically a giant upside-down U-shaped curve that begins at one shoulder, goes over her head and ends at her other shoulder.

 

Step 5: Roughly draw in the shape of Princess Peach's crown, which sits on top of her hair. An easy way to do it is to draw two vertical lines for the sides of the crown, and then draw a big W shape for the top of the crown.

Step 6: That's it for the initial sketch of Princess Peach from Nintendo's Mario Brothers video games! You have the basic shape for Princess Peach, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 7: Darken in the shape of Princess Peach's eyes by thickening the lines more. Draw a series of curved lines above each eye to represent this video game character's eyelashes.

 

Step 8: Finish drawing Princess Peach's eyes by drawing a series of three ovals in each eye, one inside the other that will represent her iris, pupil and glare. Shade in the center oval or pupil that you've drawn.

 

Step 9: Draw in two tiny curves above each eye for Princess Peach's eyebrows. Using the top small horizontal line as a guide, draw in her nose, which you should draw in the shape of a fishing hook or the letter J. Shade the bottom portion a bit for shadow.

 

Step 10: Using the lower small horizontal line as a guide, draw in two curves that resemble a bent letter D on its side for Princess Peach's mouth. Above and below her mouth, draw in a curve to represent her top and lower lip.

Step 11: Her hair is tricky, so this section about how to draw Princess Peach's hair is divided in two parts. First draw in the inside part of her hair, the part that comes over her face. Draw a curved V shape for her bangs and draw a series of vertical curved lines for the sides of Princess Peach's hair. The outer edges of these lines should end up at the horizontal construction line.

 

Step 12: Now darken in the outer part of Princess Peach's hair by using the guide drawn earlier. Follow this guide, but draw in a series of curved spikes along the sides of her hair. Also dip the top part of her hair in the middle so it compliments her bangs and forms kind of a heart shape.

 

Step 13: Draw in two C-shaped curves on the either side of the inside of Princess Peach's hair for her ears. Below each ear, draw her earrings as circles (or most of a circle because it will be covered by her hair).

 

Step 14: Darken in the bottom part of Princess Peach's face and the top part of her neck.

 

Step 15: Draw in the collar of Princess Peach's dress by using a series of curves that sit on a horizontal line and go around her neck. Use the image above for reference for how to draw Princess Peach's collar..

Step 16: Draw in the rest of Princess Peach's dress by adding some curves over her shoulders for puffy sleeves and drawing a smaller line for the top part of her torso.

 

Step 17: Tighten the shape of Princess Peach's crown. Draw a few curves or half ovals on the front and sides of the crown to represent jewels.

Final Step: For a completely finished Princess Peach drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! The crown itself is orange, and her lips and dress are pink. Her skin is the color peach (just like her name!). If you don't have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or pink. Experiment!
