To draw Minnie Mouse step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to go at your own pace. Intro: Start drawing Minnie Mouse with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Minnie Mouse, start with a circle on the page that will be Minnie Mouse's head. Draw the circle near the bottom of the page, and don't draw it too big because you need room to draw Minnie Mouse's big round ears and bow.

 

Step 2: Next draw two intersecting lines across the circle. When drawing the lines, bend them a bit so that they follow the contour shape of a sphere. These are construction lines that will help you place Minnie Mouse's features later on.

Step 3: Slightly below where the construction lines intersect, draw a small oval. This will be Minnie Mouse's nose.

 

Step 4: Draw two long curves on top of the horizontal construction line. Draw one on each side of the vertical construction line. These will be Minnie Mouse's eyes. Draw the eye on the left a tiny bit smaller because of perspective, and it should graze the vertical construction line.

Step 5: Below Minnie Mouse's nose, draw a wide curved line. Directly below that line, draw another less wide curved line that resembles the letter U. The bottom of this curve should graze the bottom of the main circle. This will be Minnie Mouse's mouth.

Step 6: Draw a guide for Minnie Mouse's bow by drawing a triangle with rounded corners that sits on top of the main circle and to the right of the vertical construction line. To the left of it draw a curve that resembles the letter C for the knot in the bow. To the left of the knot, draw another triangle with rounded corners similar to the first one.

 

Step 7: Minnie Mouse's ears hide behind her bow, so you just have to draw the part that is visible. On either side of Minnie's head, draw a curved line that starts at the side of the bow and ends on top of her head.

Step 8: That's it for the initial sketch of Minnie Mouse, the Disney cartoon character! You have a basic Minnie Mouse shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 9: First darken in the shape of Minnie Mouse's nose. Then draw her muzzle as a curved line above her nose and right on top of the horizontal line.

Step 10: Darken the shape of Minnie Mouse's eyes. Inside each of her eyes, draw a long oval for her pupils. Shade in the ovals, leaving a small circle close to the top blank to represent glare. On top of each eye, draw the curved lines for Minnie Mouse's eyelashes.

Step 11: Tighten the shape of Minnie Mouse's mouth by darkening it and adding two curved lines at each end for smile lines. Draw another curved line below the smile for her lower lip. Inside her mouth draw two curved lines for her tongue.

Step 12: Using the sketch of the bow as a guide, tighten the shape of the bow by drawing lines throughout it to indicate the folds and wrinkles of the cloth.

Step 13: This drawing step is optional. If you'd like, you can adraw small circles all over the bow to give Minnie Mouse her classic red polka dot bow. You can also leave Minnie Mouse's bow blank.

 

Step 14: Finish drawing Minnie Mouse by giving her a "mask," which is essentially a series of lines that wrap around her face to create her cheeks and connect to her lower lip. Add a point by drawing a V shape above her eyes right below the bow. Darken in this Disney cartoon character's ears and the rest of her head.

Step 15: That's it! You now have a nice sketch of Disney's Minnie Mouse. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the next step.

Step 16: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Minnie Mouse, the Disney cartoon character! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Minnie Mouse drawing.

Final Step: For a completely finished Minnie Mouse drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Minnie's mask, ears and the inside of her mouth black. Her nose is also black, but if you'd like, you can leave a small portion uncolored to represent shine. Color Minnie Mouse's tongue and bow red, and her face peach. If you don't have peach, improvise! Use orange, light orange, pink or any color that looks good; just experiment. And that's it! You now have a complete drawing of Minnie Mouse.
