Below you can watch a NEW step-by-step tutorial with NARRATED steps:
The following is an older video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake.
Step 1: To draw Snow White, start with a shape similar to an egg in the middle of the page. Add two lines at the bottom of that shape. You don't have to draw them perfectly. They're just guides for Snow White's head and neck.
Step 2: Next draw two intersecting lines across the egg shape, one vertical and one horizontal. When drawing the lines, bend them slightly so that they contour to the shape. Draw two smaller lines in between the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the egg. These will be construction lines that will help you place Snow White’s facial features later on.
Step 3: Now draw Snow White's eyes by drawing two shapes resemble little footballs. These shapes should be placed on top of the horizontal construction line. The left shape should be smaller and just barely graze the vertical construction line.
Step 4: Draw a guide for Snow White's hair as a curved line that starts on the left side of the horizontal construction line and arcs across her forehead to the right side of her head.
Step 5: Add another guide for Snow White's hair by drawing an even bigger curved line. This one starts on the left side of Snow White's neck and arcs above and around her head. Draw the line so it ends on the right side of her head.
Step 6: That's it for the initial sketch of Snow White! You now have the basic Snow White shape, now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 7: Tighten the shape of Snow White's eyes by darkening them and giving her thick eyelashes. Also draw a small curve above each of her eyes to represent eyelids.
Step 8: Finish drawing Snow White's eyes by drawing a semicircle inside each eye for her irises. Draw a smaller circle inside each iris for her pupil and shade them in. Draw an even smaller circle next to each pupil to represent glare.
Step 9: Above each eye, draw a thick curved line for Snow White's eyebrows. The eyebrow on the right should be smaller because of perspective.
Step 10: Draw the nose so it sits on top of the smaller of the horizontal construction lines. Draw just a small curved line at the vertical construction line and an even smaller curved line to the left of it for her nostril.
Step 11: Draw Snow White's lips below her nose where the lowest horizontal construction line is. The upper lip is a wavy shape with pointy ends, and her lower lip is comprised of two curved lines that are both similar to a wide letter U.
Step 12: Snow White’s hair is a bit tricky, so the instructions for drawing it is split into two parts. Use the initial lines as guides to draw the top of her hair first. Split it up on top and have the right side bend in toward her face a little.
Step 13: Before you finish drawing her hair, draw in Snow White's bow. It consists of a series of curved lines above her head. Use the image as reference if you need more help.
Step 14: Finish the rest of Snow White's hair by darkening the left side. Have it curve in more near the horizontal construction line and add an extra curve at the bottom.
Step 15: Use the original egg shape to draw the rest of Snow White's face. Notice how the line dips in toward her eye to create her cheek. Darken in the lines that make up her neck too.
Step 16: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Snow White from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 17: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Snow White! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Snow White drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Snow White drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color her hair black, her bow and lips red and her eyes light brown. Her skin is a peach color; if you don’t have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or pink. Experiment! Add some pink to her cheeks for blush. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Snow White from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
