To draw Elsa in her Frozen 2 outfit step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to go at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below. The new lines in each step are shown in red, and each step is explained in the text below the photo, so you'll know exactly what to draw in each step. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods! Take your time and draw at your own pace.

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Draw a small circle at the top of the page as a guide for Elsa's head. To draw the circle, first make four small marks to determine its height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid.

Step 2: Draw a small arc under the head as a guide for the jaw and chin. Don't draw the arc too low, or Elsa will end up with a big chin. The shape should be wide at the top and a bit pointy at the bottom.

Step 3: Draw two intersecting lines inside the head, one horizontal and one vertical. Curve the lines to contour to the head. These are construction lines that will help you place Elsa's facial features later. Add two short lines under the head for the neck.

Step 4: Draw a big triangle under the head as a guide for the top part of Elsa's torso. The top part of the triangle will be the guide for the shoulders, so don't draw this part too wide. The length of this triangle should be about twice the size of the head.

Step 5: Draw a set of lines under the triangle as a guide for the bottom of Elsa's torso. This shape is made up of two sloping lines on the sides, with a horizontal line at the bottom. It should be similar to a triangle with the top missing.

Step 6: Draw a long, angled line on either side of the torso as guides for the arms. Pay attention to the length of these lines in relation to the torso. At the end of each line, draw a small circle as guides for Queen Elsa's hands. The circle on the left shouldn't overlap the shape of the torso.

Step 7: Under the torso, draw two long vertical lines as guides for Elsa's legs. The lines should drift apart at the bottom for a more powerful stance. Bend the lines at the bottom as guides for the feet. Notice how long these lines are in relation to the body.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more finished drawing.

Step 8: Draw Elsa's eyes inside the head using the construction lines as guides. First lightly sketch two small ovals directly on top of the horizontal line and on either side of the vertical line. When you get the shapes and their positions right, darken the lines.

Draw a thicker line on the top part of each eye for Elsa's eyelashes. Add a few smaller strokes along the top part of the line to emphasize each individual eyelash. Make the bottom line of the eyes thicker too, but not as thick as the top line. The eye on the left should be a bit narrower than the one on the right because of the way the head is turned.

Step 9: Inside each eye, draw a circle for the irises. Pay attention to the placement of this circle. Inside each iris, off to the side, draw a tiny circle to represent highlights. In the middle of each iris, draw a big dot for Elsa's pupils.

Step 10: Draw a thin, long shape over each eye for Queen Elsa's eyebrows. The eyebrows should slope down toward the middle.

Step 11: Draw Elsa's nose above the bottom edge of the main circle. The tip of the nose consists of a curved line. The nostrils are made up of smaller curved lines on the sides of the tip of the nose. Draw a line next to the eyebrow on the left for the bridge of the nose.

Step 12: Below the nose, draw a long, horizontal line for Elsa's mouth. Above and below the mouth, draw a curved, horizontal line for the lips. Draw a small line on the left side for a smile line.

Step 13: Draw the top, right portion of Elsa's hair using a series of curved lines. At the top of the vertical construction line, draw a thick, pointy shape for a clump of hair. To the right, draw a bigger clump of hair along the edge of the original circle using longer curved lines. Below that draw two smaller clumps of hair along the left edge of the original circle, to the right of Elsa's eyes. These last two clumps of hair should be pointy at the bottom.

Step 14: Darken the initial arc to create Elsa's chin and jaw. Draw a line on the left side of the eye for the side of the head. On the right side, draw a curved line for the ear. Inside the ear, draw a few curved lines for structure.

Step 15: On top of the head, draw a big, curved line for the main clump of Elsa's hair that sweeps backward. On the top, left side draw a few more curved lines along the edge of the initial circle for the rest of the hair.

Step 16: Below the ear, draw Elsa's braid as a series of short, curved lines that overlap each other. The braid should slope to the left to overlap the initial shape of the neck.

Step 17: Continue to draw overlapping curved lines for the rest of Queen Elsa's braid. The curved lines should gradually get smaller the lower they are. The braid should extend to about the middle part of the initial triangle guide for the torso. At the tip of the braid, draw a pointy shape for the end of the hair.

Step 18: Use the angled line on the right as a guide to draw the Elsa's arm. Follow the path of the guide and draw the shape of the arm around it. The arm should be thinner at the wrist. At the end of the arm, draw a V-shaped line for the dress cuff.

Step 19: Use the small circle at the bottom as a guide to draw Elsa's fist. Follow the edge of the circle as you draw the fist but make the sides blockier. Make the line at the bottom wavier for the knuckles. Add a couple of short, curved lines on the left for the rolled-up fingers and thumb.

Step 20: Draw Elsa's belt about halfway along the torso about where the two torso shapes meet. The top, left side of the belt should be pointy and the bottom should be curved.

Step 21: Darken the sides of the initial triangle guide to create the shape of the torso. Draw two long lines form Elsa's neck to the belt for the dress opening. Curve the lines near the top for the chest. Inside the V-shaped opening of the dress, draw a curved line for the inside of the dress.

Step 22: Draw the shape of Queen Elsa's the other arm around the angled guide on the left. The top of this arm should curve toward the neck so that the shoulder isn't too pointy. Make the wrist thin. Use the circle as a guide to draw the fist but don't draw the bottom because the dress will be blocking the knuckles.

Step 23: Draw a long, vertical line along the right side of the torso and leg guide for the side of Elsa's dress. Near the bottom of the leg guide, draw a horizontal line for the bottom of the dress. Then draw a vertical line near the left leg guide that meets the belt at the top for the middle opening of the dress. At the bottom of the shape you just created, draw a vertical line for a pleat on the dress.

Step 24: On the left side, draw a similar shape, only narrower, for the rest of Queen Elsa's dress. This side of the dress should slope to the left. Add a pleat at the bottom too. Along the lower edge of the dress, draw a row of small diamonds for extra detail.

Step 25: Use the line on the lower, right as a guide to draw Elsa's first boot. Follow the path of the guide and draw the shape of the boot around it. The top of the leg should be wide and the area around the ankle thin. The tip of the boot should be pointy. Draw a blocky shape on the left side of the foot for the heel.

Step 26: Use the line on the left as a guide to draw Elsa's other boot the same way. Draw the shape of the leg around the initial guide line. Make the shape wide at the top and the ankle thin. This boot is pointing to the left, so the tip should be more prominent. Add a blocky shape on the right for the heel.

Step 27: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner Elsa drawing.

Final Step: Color your Elsa drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use light yellow for the hair. Color the skin light peach. The eyebrows should be light brown and the lips red. Add a bit of pink to the cheeks. The dress should be light blue at the top and gradually transition to dark blue at the bottom. Use dark blue for the belt and light blue for the inside section of the dress. The boots should be regular blue, along with her eyes.
