Kick Buttowski

Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil from Disney Channel. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start drawing Disney Channel's Kick Buttowski with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 1

Step 1: To draw Kick Buttowski, start with a big circle near the top of the page and a circle about half the size below the first. You don't have to draw the circles perfectly. They're just guides for Kick Buttowski's head and body.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 2

Step 2: Next, draw a vertical and a horizontal line that intersect inside the top circle. When drawing the lines, bend them so they follow the contour of the sphere. These will be construction guides that will help you place Kick Buttowski's features later on. Also, draw two small lines that connect both circles to form the body.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 3

Step 3: Below Kick Buttowski's head, draw guides for his arms. The arm on the left is just a vertical line with a circle at the end of it. The right arm is a bent line with a circle at the end of it and two smaller lines on top of the circle.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 4

Step 4: Now draw guides for Kick Buttowski's feet below the lowest circle. Draw two short lines with a half circle at the end of each.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 5

Step 5: Draw Kick Buttowski's eyes as half circles inside the head directly below the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. Draw the eye on the right smaller because of the perspective. Below the left eye, draw another half circle that's tilted a bit to create Kick Buttowski's smirk.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 6

Step 6: That's it for the initial sketch of Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil from Disney Channel! You have the basic Kick Buttowski shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 7

Step 7: Now draw the left collar of Kick Buttowski's jumpsuit. Draw a curved line that goes from the lower left side of the main circle to the top of the smaller lower circle. The rest of the collar follows the same basic pattern, but it points outward more, has a small triangle-like shape in it and also ends on top of the smaller circle.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 8

Step 8: Use the outline of the main circle and the construction lines to draw Kick Buttowski's helmet. Don't forget to draw the racing stripe on top of the helmet.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 9

Step 9: Draw Kick Buttowski's eyes by using the guides and making the tops darker to form his eyebrows. Draw little circles inside them and shade them in for his pupils. Leave a small portion unshaded to represent glare.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 10

Step 10: Darken in the shape of Kick Buttowski's mouth. Shade it a small part of it on the right and draw a small line on the left to form his teeth. Draw in the right side of his face using the main circle as a guide.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 11

Step 11: Draw the right part of Kick Buttowski's collar the same way you drew the left, but because Kick Buttowski's face is in front, most of it will be hiding behind his face.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 12

Step 12: Using the initial arm line as a guide, draw the left arm. Just thicken up the guide line and draw a square-like shape with only three sides before the circle at the end of it. Draw the racing stripe on the side of Kick Buttowski's arm too.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 13

Step 13: Finish drawing Kick Buttowski's left arm by drawing a fist using the circle as a guide and adding a few curved lines to represent his knuckles and fingers. Draw a line on top of the glove for extra detail.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 14

Step 14: Draw Kick Buttowski's feet the same way. Thicken up the guide line and draw a curved line to represent the top of his boot.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 15

Step 15: Darken Kick Buttowski's belly and butt using the initial lines as guides.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 16

Step 16: Use the initial curved line to draw the guide for Kick Buttowski's right arm. Don't forget to draw the stripe and the top of the glove.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 17

Step 17: Now draw his hand that's forming the "rock on" gesture or sign of the horns by using the initial lines as guides. His thumb and middle finger curve inward, and his index finger and pinky are extended (like most other cartoon characters, Kick has only three fingers and a thumb).

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 18

Step 18: That's it! You now have a nice sketch of Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredveil from Disney Channel. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

Draw Kick Buttowski Step 19

Step 19: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Kick Buttowski! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Kick Buttowski drawing.

Draw Kick Buttowski Final Step

Final Step: For a completely finished Kick Buttowski drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color the racing stripes red, his gloves and boots yellow and his skin peach. If you don't have peach, use yellow orange or light brown... experiment! That's it! You now have a completed drawing of Disney Channel's Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil.
